Celia celebrates School Milk Day

Celia Barlow MP attended World Milk Day in Brighton on September 30th, 2009 to help increase the amount of children in the UK who drink milk. World Milk Day is an international event celebrated in over 30 countries around the world coordinated by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations.

Celia commented:

"Milk is a vital part of any child's lifestyle which is why this was a great event
which helped get more children in the UK aware of the benefits of milk and where it
comes from."

The event was held at the Brighton Bandstand and was attended by Gillian Merron,
Minister of State in the Department of Health and a further 8 MP's including Celia who united in their support they helped encourage more children in the UK to drink school milk.

Celia met the local milkmen with their floats handing out free milk to school children from local schools. The event focussed on where milk comes from due to all too many children who currently answer this question by giving the name of their local supermarket.
